Happy New Year!

I woke up groggy and with a painful stye on my eye. I stayed up with my family to bring in the new year as this is my twins senior year and I felt the need to have an close bonding night of food, games, music, dancing, and laughter. My children are leaving the next and those that know me, know I may be prone to over anticipating We kicked of the night with what I believe to be our favorite family meal together, Mexican Cuisinean. After that we performed a family bonding exercise I adapted. We each wrote down our fears and concerns and similarly our goals and dreams. We went outside and burned what we had written as our fears and concerns. Then we came inside and "watered our dreams and goals" by placing them together in a bowl of water which we will leave on the counter until Jan 2. We shared a few items with our family of 4 but mostly kept our desires and worries to ourselves. Afterwards we sat at the table and commenced to unleash our  competitive family behavior, which I firmly believe is genetic , but can be severely impacted by other factors. I can’t recall how many games we played but we enjoyed ourselves and had such laughter and bliss. We brought in the New Year with champagne and sparkling juice. I became uncontrollably sleepy about 12:40 am and woke up reflecting and beaming over this culmination year as a Mother. I love may family and so enjoy my babies and how they embrace their crazy, lively and lighthearted Mom!
